Garage Walls for a Workshop (DIY)
Convert your garage into a workshop. With any workshop, you do
not want drywall for a wall covering. Drywall is not durable enough for the
abuse it may encounter. OSB. Is a perfect strong surface for a wall in your
workshop. Simply nail it up. Prime and paint. You can fasten anything to any
part of the surface without worrying about it pulling out of the wall. For
garages with existing drywall, you can apply the OSB only 4ft high making
minimum cuts and protecting the wall. For transition, take a stick of 2x2 pine
and install it at the top of the OSB creating a mock chair rail. For additional
areas of wear and use like behind your work bench, apply the OSB there too.Again, prime and paint. I would
recommend isinglass a satin or semiglossoutdoor paint. This paint is easier to clean and will last a lot longer.
